Atlantis Divers is proud to offer the largest selection
in dive gear and service in the area as well as have the most
complete and comprehensive training. We are the only dive center
in Richmond with the capability to train divers from the beginner
level straight through to Instructor Trainer. All Dive Instructors
are Atlantis Divers Staff and are certified by multiple dive
agencies.

Have

by schools of exotic fish, swimming past sunken wrecks and
meeting new creatures under the sea? Then scuba diving is
the sport for you! Let our qualified Instructors and Staff
introduce you to the magnificent underwater world.
Schedule
Week Night Classes
This course is a more enjoyable and easy-going format. Take your time and train
right at a more relaxed pace of two nights a week for three weeks.
6:30 PM – 9:30 PM – Academics and Pool
Weekend Boot Camps
This course is an intensive weekend of Open Water Training
for those who are very comfortable in the water and have
snorkeling or swimming experience.
Fri 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM - Academic
Sat 9 AM – 5 PM - Academic and Pool
Sun 10 AM – finish - Academic and Pool
 Private Classes
(1 -2 students)
Semi-Private Classes (3-5 students)
This course is centered on you. You and your instructor set
the pace for the academic dates, pool sessions (subject to
pool availability) and quarry dates. For groups of 5 or more,
you can set your course dates at the standard Weeknight or
Weekend price.
Certification Dives
There are several ways to perform Open Water Certification
Dives. You may do a referral (Atlantis Divers does the
Academic and Pool Instruction and you get certified on
a trip by another facility), or you can dive with us at
a local dive site or take a trip with Atlantis Divers to
get certified.
Open Water Certification Dives are held the last weekend
of each month at Lake Rawlings. Other local and exotic dive
sites are optional.

Atlantis Divers has exclusive certifications you can only
find with us. Below are a few of our Specialties to chose
from:
Shark Adventure Diver
 Sharks play an important and necessary role in the ecosystems
of our oceans and seas. Most sharks play the role of “trash
collector” weeding
out sick and the dead marine animals that would otherwise
pollute and decease health and vitality
of the marine ecosystem.
 Sharks
are vital to maintain a healthy and balanced marine ecosystem.
Without the various roles
sharks play, hunting, scavenging and filter feeding the overall
effects on the ocean and ultimately the planet would be catastrophic.
 The
Shark Adventure Diver will take a first hand look at these
animals and the effects that man has played upon them.
This coupled with surface environmental studies and two dives
will allow us to gain an understanding and respect for sharks.

 Florescence Night Diver
The purpose of the Fluorescence Night Diver specialty course
is to familiarize divers with the colorful world of fluorescent
organisms found in a marine environment. This training course
will be conducted
as a night dive, as most fluorescing species can only be
observed at night.
 Fluorescence is just one example of luminescence, the emission
of light without heat. One of the most striking aspects of
fluorescence is the hidden beauty it reveals. Subjects that
are brightly colored
by day are usually not fluorescent and disappear, while subjects
that are drab or hidden my reveal strikingly intense and
totally unexpected colors and patterns.
 This
course will teach you what fluorescence is, what equipment
is needed
to see or photograph fluorescence, and the types of things
you will see on a fluorescence night dive. This confined
water program will perfect your abilities with specialized
equipment, buoyancy and other necessary skills.

Aquarium Diver Course
 Atlantis Divers is proud to be the only shop in Virginia
where you can get certified as an Aquarium Diver and experience
the thrill of diving in a living coral aquarium.
This course will teach you to identify many species of rays,
sharks and fish. We will also give you experience interacting
with these gentle creatures of the sea. The Aquarium Diver
course starts with an informative class session on the basics
of aquarium diving and fish identification. We then dive
in the pool to fine-tune our buoyancy and skills to ensure
the environment will be safe. Last we will plan a field trip
to a sponsoring aquarium for a behind the scenes private
tour and dive.

Classes
Atlantis Divers is offering
two new emergency classes: CPR1st
Administrator Course , CPROX
Adminstrator Course and CPR-AED
for the Community and Workplace. Learn how you can help
save a life not only when you're diving but even when you
are out of the water. These classes are beneficial for anyone
and could help save lives in the community or even in your
own family, it's best to be prepared in an emergency situation

Week July 30 - August 5th on the Discovery Channel! It's
the 19th summer of Shark Week - which is produced in conjunction
with leading shark researchers around the globe, and provides
viewers with valuable knowledge about the behavior and characteristics
of this diverse and majestic species. Take a deeper look
into the world of sharks with Discovery Channel's Shark Week
and you just might be surprised to see the Atlantis Diver
commercial (please - no autographs). The commercial will
also be shown during the History Channels Deep Sea Detectives
and the new Pirate series.

Recycle Recycle!
Cub Scout Pack 461 has partnered up with Atlantis
Divers to help save the oceans we love. Bring your aluminum
cans to Atlantis Divers in a plastic bag any time during
store hours. Pack 461 will pick up the cans each Monday and
take them to be recycled.
